The San Francisco Film Society presents a free screening with director Philip Kaufman of the brand new HBO film “Hemingway & Gellhorn” at the Castro Theater a day before the film’s premiere on HBO.

The film, which chronicles the tumultuous marriage of Ernest Hemingway and trailblazing war correspondent Martha Gellhorn ­as it follows the adventurous writers through the Spanish Civil War, stars Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen.
