They’re fans of Pastry Chef Dana Cree htere at CAW, so on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, they are welcoming her in to the shop to celebrate the highly-anticipated release of her first cookbook, Hello, My Name is Ice Cream: The Art and Science of the Scoop.
Guests will enjoy a free scoop of ice cream featuring CAW’s matcha milk jam or a spiced cane syrup frozen yogurt, and are given the option to upgrade their scoop CAW style for $2.00 and get a Matcha Snickerdoodle Ice Cream Sandwich or a Kouign Amann Ice Cream Sandwich.
Signed copies of Chef Cree’s book will be available. Hello, My Name is Ice Cream: The Art and Science of the Scoop (Clarkson Potter; $25) is more than just a collection of recipes for delicious ice cream flavors and melt-in-your-mouth mix-ins. Cree dives into the science of ice cream, explaining how the ingredients join forces to create ice cream, how butterfat traps flavor and sugars affect texture, and finally, how you can manipulate all of these facts to create the ice cream of your dreams.
