Event Details

In conjunction with her performances of Vak: Song of Becoming (Sep 20-21 in the YBCA Forum), Ann Dyer presents this special screening of Touch the Sound: A Sound Journey with Evelyn Glennie.

Glennie is a Grammy Award-winning classical percussionist whose solo work is unrivaled. She is also deaf. For Glennie, sound is palpable and rhythm is the basis of everything. Without vibration, there is nothing. From silence to music, sound is felt through every sense in our bodies.

Original music by Glennie and Fred Frith. (2004, 99 min, digital). Dyer will also present excerpts from Raga Unveiled, a survey of North Indian raga, before the feature.

Free, but an RSVP is required.
