In an unprecedented effort to bring live performances safely back to the public during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Rotunda at The Palace of Fine Arts will transform from a San Francisco landmark, into an outdoor concert hall on May 25, 2021 (Tuesday) between 1-3pm.
The max capacity is 50 guests, in observance of the SF City Health Mandate. Limit your reservation to 4 tickets.
- 1pm Check-in
- 1:15pm Performance begins
- 3pm Performance ends
The program features Bay Area pianists Tin Yi Chelsea Wong, Laura Magnini, and Zach Wiener, performing works by Ligeti, Ravel, Bach, and more. By utilizing LiveNote®, interactive program notes are delivered directly to audience members’ mobile devices, welcoming both novice and experienced classical concert attendees.
Upon arrival, guests will receive a COVID-19 screening, and staff members will lead guests to their designated seating area. For best comfort, guests are welcomed to bring their own camping chairs or cushions; staff can also provide folding chairs upon requests. Guests are also strongly advised to bring blankets to bundle up against the windy weather in the Marina district. As always, guests are required to follow the city’s health mandate, by wearing face masks and maintaining 6ft social distancing.
The mission of Piano at The Palace is to provide free educational concerts to the San Francisco community, explore unconventional settings for classical music outside of traditional concert halls, and promote the culture of classical piano around the Bay Area.
