Free PBS “Independent Lens” Documentary Film Night | Berkeley

Community Cinema, presented by the Independent Television Service (ITVS), is a free monthly screening series featuring films from the Emmy Award-winning PBS series Independent Lens.

Rialto Cinemas Elmwood will present Community Cinema from January to May, and from September to November on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm.

The battle over illegal immigration in Arizona that came to a head with Senate Bill 1070 frames this riveting documentary that tracks multiple perspectives – activists, politicians, Latino immigrants, controversial Sheriff Joe Arpalo, ranchers, and other – as America eyes the results.
