Free Rides on GG Transit, Marin Transit & GG Ferry (July 3-5)

Transit riders in Marin County will be offered free rides from Saturday, July 3 to Monday, July 5 to celebrate 4th of July and welcome riders back to the service.

All local Marin Transit fixed route services and regional Golden Gate Transit Bus, Marin Transit and Ferry service will be free to all passengers. Local bus service will operate a weekend/holiday schedule on all three days during the promotional campaign.

On Sunday, July 4th, late-night ferry service from San Francisco to the North Bay will be offered for those who want to see the San Francisco fireworks display.

Golden Gate Transit will offer free shuttles between the San Rafael Transit Center and Larkspur Ferry Terminal before and after all ferry trips Sunday as well as special shuttles after the return of the late night ferry trip to Larkspur that will go to the Canal neighborhood in San Rafael, Novato, and Sonoma County.

The free ferry trips also extend to Golden Gate Ferry’s service to Oracle Park for the San Francisco Giants’ 3:05 p.m. game Monday, according to the agency. NOTE: As of June 30, seats for this free ferry are “sold out” and no longer available.

Face masks are still required for trips on Marin Transit and Golden Gate buses and ferries.
