The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market operates year-round from 8 am to 2 pm.
On most Saturdays, free cooking demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.

Liza Shaw, acclaimed former chef and partner of San Francisco’s A16, is known for rustic and soulful food, which reflects a deep appreciation of Southern Italian culinary traditions combined with Northern California sensibilities. Raised outside of Baltimore, Liza was exposed early on to the signature subs, hoagies and grinders that are emblemized in East Coast sandwich shops both small and large. Since moving to San Francisco in 1999, Liza has been on a quest for a proper sub, only to determine that she is the person best suited to initiate an utter sandwich revival at Merigan Sub Shop.
Erik Lowe, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, began his culinary career by way of the Pacific Northwest, being introduced to “water to table” cuisine while visiting family in Washington state. After working in Utah for a number of years, he enrolled in and graduated from the California Culinary Academy. In 2006, Lowe joined Hiro Sone’s team at Ame as Greg Dunmore’s exectutive sous chef. Together, the team was awarded a Michelin star in 2008. In 2009, he landed the chef de cuisine job at BIX, a beloved San Francisco fine dining establishment. He helmed the kitchen for four years before helping chef-owner Bruce Hill and the Real Restaurants team re-open another San Francisco institution, Fog City. It was during his time at BIX and Fog City that Lowe met his now business partner and pastry chef Aaron Toensing. At Spaghetti Bros., Lowe and Toensing create comfortable American cuisine with an open minded approach.
