Free World Cup “Fútbol on the Block” Oakland Soccer Watch Party (July 4-5)

The Temescal Telegraph Business Improvement District, in partnership with business consultancy Neighborhood Linguist and local favorite 9 Julio Empanada Kitchen, is proud to announce “Fútbol on the Block,” a premier, community-forward neighborhood soccer watch party. Launching over the holiday weekend on July 4th and July 5th, 2026, this highly anticipated, family-friendly event transforms the heart of the Temescal district into an outdoor “Neighborhood Stadium”. The weekend festival perfectly blends the peak excitement of world soccer championships with an inclusive, vibrant Independence Day celebration designed for fans of all ages.

• • The Main Event: A live, big screen, high-definition broadcast of the summer’s marquee international soccer matches on a massive, pro-grade outdoor cinematic screen.
  • Salsa & Sound: Live sets from local DJs paired with dynamic performances by professional dancers to keep the block energized before and after the games.
  • The 9 Julio Canopy Experience: A featured presentation by co-partner 9 Julio Empanada Kitchen, serving up their signature flavors alongside a curated lineup of local food vendors with options for the whole family.

• Beer Garden: Classic brews and local craft beer favorites will be served as well as a selection of signature cocktails. 

• Community Village: Interactive tabling from local organizations highlighting community resources, neighborhood initiatives, and youth-friendly activities.

General admission to “Fútbol on the Block” is entirely free and open to the public. Families are highly encouraged to bring blankets and low-profile lawn chairs to enjoy the action comfortably from the custom-installed, kid-friendly astroturf pitch.

For guests looking for an elevated experience, a premium VIP Section is available for reservation. The VIP tier features exclusive access to cordoned lounge seating, dedicated tables, premium sightlines, and curated food and beverage hospitality included in the ticket package.
