To help non-French speakers discover French cinema, The Alliance Française of San Francisco is offering a weekly Tuesday night French film viewing.
The film night takes place in their cozy theater with free servings of wine. Admission is free, but a $5 donation at the door is always appreciated.
Don’t know French? Don’t worry, all films are screened with English subtitles, and includes a brief talk and discussion about the film.
Countess Louise sells the earrings her husband gave her on her wedding day to cover a gambling debt. She pretends to have lost them as to hide her secret, however, her husband, a wealthy, important General soon discovers her deceit. He purchases the earrings back and gives them to his mistress, who sells them on to an Italian Baron, who in turn gives the earrings to Countess Louise as a courting gift…
