"Amour" (2012) | French Film & Wine Night | SF

In Amour, the 2013 Oscar winner for best foreign language film, octogenarians Georges and Anne are retired music teachers enjoying their twilight years together. Their daughter lives abroad with her family and they rarely hear from her. When Anne suffers a stroke, paralysing one side of her body, their relationship is severely tested as the ailing Georges promises his increasingly helpless wife that he’ll care for her himself.

2012 Cannes Palme d’Or Winner. Written and directed by Michael Haneke. Starring Jean-Louis Trintignant, Emmanuelle Riva, and Isabelle Huppert.
