Event Details

Movement Generation presents Make it Fresh, a summer performance showcase using music, spoken word, and culture to honor the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and to lift up the social and ecological justice issues that the storm laid bare so violently: institutional racism, displacement, climate change, migration, housing and more.

Free, but an RSVP is required.

The event features music from DJLN, plus performances from Greg Hodge and Do D.A.T., an emcee, arts educator and event host, born and raised in Oakland, CA. Throughout his career, Do D.A.T. has released four albums, as a member of The Attik crew, as a solo artist, and most recently collaborating with DJ/Producer Malicious Lee as well as the chamber hip hop opera Ensemble Mik Nawooj.

Make it Fresh performers are: Kaila Love, Dania Cabello, Najari Smith, Christine Cordero, Sergio Solis, Vivian Huang, and Lubna Morrar. Hosted by Josh Healey and Antique.
