The de Young Museum has commissioned eight electronic sound and media artists to “plug in” to the permanent collection to create new collaborative performances.This event is curated by Ed Patuto of VOLUME and presented in partnership with the San Francisco Electronic Music Festival. This free Friday night event (which is in the public spaces of the museum – admission to the galleries is separate) also includes hands-on art instruction and performance art.
About Friday Nights at the De Young
On Friday nights the entire museum is open until 8:45 p.m. Friday Nights at the de Young offers a variety of interdisciplinary arts programs, including live music, poetry, films, dance, tours, and lectures. The cafe is open with a special Friday Nights dinner menu, and a no-host cocktail bar is serving drinks. There are art making activities for everyone. All Friday Night programming is free unless otherwise noted.
