Event Details

A first-time community-led festival for the Glen Park neighborhood to celebrate the ‘Gum Tree Girls.’ Decades ago, they protested and prevented the City from building a cross-town freeway through the canyon, helping turn it into the beautiful park and nature reserve it is today.

We will also commemorate those we lost to COVID, including one of the last Gum Tree Girls. The event will include special guest speakers, live music and performances, kids’ activities, history talks, food trucks, food for purchase, and a documentary screening. The Glen Park Neighborhood History Project is hosting this exciting summer event and hopes it to be an annual affair. www.GlenParkHistory.org
