Naomi Watanabe, a global comedy star, actor, and fashion icon known for her viral Beyoncé impersonation, high-energy comedy, and massive influence across entertainment and fashion.

Naomi Watanabe rose to fame in Japan with her viral Beyoncé impersonation and breakout sketch comedy performances. Since her debut in 2007, she has become one of Asia’s most recognizable entertainers, captivating audiences worldwide with her high-energy comedy, celebrity impressions, and original characters.

Now based in New York, Watanabe continues to expand her international reach through stand-up, live tours, and her podcast Naomi Takes America, where she explores cultural differences between Japan and the U.S. Her recent one-night stand-up special in New York sold out within minutes, prompting the addition of a second show.

Beyond comedy, Watanabe is a major force in fashion and pop culture, partnering with brands like Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Gap, and Adidas x Ivy Park, and launching her own streetwear line, Punyus. She was named one of BBC’s “100 Women” in 2024 and has appeared on Netflix’s Queer Eye.
