2015 Global Silent Disco Dance Party | Justin Herman Plaza

The whole world will participate in a unique sharing experience where people all over the planet will dance for a whole day during the 3rd Annual Global Floating Dance Party from 8-10 pm on Saturday, July 18, 2015.

You’ll need to download or stream the tracks you’ll be dancing to, bring a portable music player, and meet in Justin Herman Plaza at 7:45 pm. Stay tuned for updates on Facebook.

Please Note: This event has been moved to Justin Herman Plaza from Union Square. 

The Global Float is when a group of people download an epic 90-minute mix, meet up, put on headphones, press play at the same time, and dance around the city. It’s an amazing, synchronous, goofy, loud-on-the-inside, silent-on-the-outside hour-and-a-half of joy. For the fourth year in a row, the Global Float is happening in dozens of cities around the world, one after another.

Principles
The Float is intended to be driven by joyful participation and expression. Everyone is welcome. When was the last time you used your phone to participate in a single event with people all around the world? When was the last time you saw your city or town through new eyes by dancing through its streets?

Ground Rules
Have fun while keeping a cool head. Cross streets carefully. Encourage respect between the other dancers. Use common sense. This is an event for people of all ages, and that’s the way they like it.
