Golden Gate Park’s Lighted Forest “Entwined” Closing Party 2023
After a couple of pauses because of rain, it’s finally the final weekend to take in Golden Gate Park’s “Entwined” lighted forest.
Don’t miss your last chance to see the magic of Entwined before it leaves. Celebrate another year of Entwined bringing light, color, and joy to Golden Gate Park at its Closing Party from 6-8pm on Sunday, April 2, 2023.
The art installation will close on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 10pm so join in for one more night of magic and fun. There’s been another update.Despite Facebook saying that Entwined closes on Monday April 3rd, the organizers have confirmed for Funcheap that the final night is, indeed, Sunday April 2nd.
- Closing Party – Sunday, April 2, 2023 – 6-8p – New Date
- Final Night of Lights – Sunday, April 2, 2023 – Lights out at 10pm – New Date
Entwined Meadow’s dazzling forest of light first welcomed parkgoers as a safe and joyful outdoor destination in 2020 and quickly became an iconic attraction for Bay Area residents and tourists alike. This immersive experience was designed specifically for Peacock Meadow by San Francisco artist Charles Gadeken. The arrangement in the installation creates twisting paths through large flowering clusters, trees to sit under, and shifting lights and color. Entwined is a magic, illuminated art installation: a whimsical dazzling forest where visitors can explore paths and sit under a grove of illuminated trees and shrubs, filling the meadow with everchanging light. Entwined is 100% free, interactive, and accessible to all.
When will the lights go out? – Sunday at 10pm
Entwined will officially sign off Sunday night, April 2, 2023 at 10 pm. It started on December 10, 2020, and has come back seasonally. Some of it is going to Transfixed in Las Vegas and some of it is off to frolic at light festivals around America. A few small pieces are going into the homes of art lovers. And hopefully, all of it and more will return next year with a little luck and a lot of support from the Parks Alliance and Rec and Park.
