Event Details

The Grace Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys is celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2013. As part of this celebration, the choir will conduct a musical tour in Spain this June, to share the uplifting voices with a diverse, global audience. The Grace Cathedral choir is one of only a handful of men & boys choirs in the United States, following English tradition dating back to the 1300s.

This bon voyage concert will feature the program the choir will perform during their June tour. Music will include Victoria’s Missa Ascendens Christus, a not-often-heard piece by the great Spanish master, which the choir will perform in Avila, the composer’s hometown. The choir will also perform arrangements of traditional American spirituals, arranged by great American composer, Aaron Copland and renowned composer and pedagogue Alice Parker.

When: Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 3 p.m.
