Event Details

Have you ever wanted to grow your own fruits, vegetables, or herbs but weren’t sure where to start? Join us for a free, hands-on gardening workshop and learn practical ways to grow delicious, healthy food at home. Whether you have a backyard, a small patio, or just a sunny balcony, you’ll learn tips for planning and caring for a garden in any space.

Together we’ll cover:

  • How to read seed packets, nursery labels, and plant guides
  • Seasonal gardening basics – from composting and pruning to watering and pest control
  • The best fruits, vegetables, and herbs to grow in our Bay Area climate year-round

Come learn, connect, and grow with your community. Everyone is welcome—no experience (or backyard) required!

Presented by: Jill Sowards, Gardener & Owner of Violetear Studio

Jill teaches classes and workshops on a range of gardening and design topics throughout the bay are and online. She believes that all people can benefit from building a nurturing connection with the joy of the garden.
