South Berkeley Farmers’ Market | 63rd and Adeline Street, Berkeley, CA
Submitted by the Event Organizer
Honor passed loved ones and ancestors at the annual Dia de los Muertos celebration featuring a number of hands-on activities for the whole family on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
It’s transition time at the farmers’ markets. Stone fruit and salads of summer are giving way to soup and citrus season. It is also the season of Dia de los Muertos and Halloween, a time that celebrates the transitions of life to death and the relationship between. It is said that at this time the worlds of the living and the worlds of the dead are in closest proximity.
Bring your family and something for the altar, lovingly built by Ecology Center Staff.
Plan to stay for the whole day and enjoy:
- Bounce House
- Face Painting
- Live Mariachi Band
- Live DJ
- Sugar Skull Painting of Wooden Skulls
- Spooky Storytime with Berkeley Public Library
- Street Decorating
- Costume Contest — Wear your costume and you might win a basket of farmers’ market goodies
