Happy Birthday to The Exploratorium!

The museum of science, technology, and arts in San Francisco was founded by physicist and educator Frank Oppenheimer and opened on August 20, 1969, at the Palace of Fine Arts.

It’s characterized as “a mad scientist’s penny arcade, a scientific funhouse, and an experimental laboratory all rolled into one”. Currently located at Pier 15 in San Francisco, it’s an experimental, hands-on museum designed to spark curiosity regardless of your age or familiarity with science. With more than 650 hands-on exhibits that ignite curiosity, the Exploratorium invites visitors of all ages to play, observe, and discover.

There’s more to the Exploratorium beyond being a physical museum; it’s an ongoing exploration of science, art, and human perception. Watch the short video below and see a vast collection of online experiences that will feed your curiosity.
