Master playwright David Ives (Venus in Fur, All in the Timing) reinvigorates Jean-François Regnard’s 1708 comic masterpiece. Love, greed, and intrigue combine to make this a hilarious French farce that shouldn’t be missed.
Eraste desperately wants to marry Isabelle, but first he needs to secure an inheritance from his decrepit old uncle, Geronte – who refuses to die and schemes to marry Isabelle himself. Can Eraste’s resourceful servant save the day with his quick wit and powers of disguise?
