#HellaFunny is taking over the historic Great Star Theater (built in 1925) for a one-night-only showcase on Friday, August 22, 2014 for a special comedy night. This event will showcase some of the best local comedy talent the Bay Area has to offer.
Free for Funcheap readers for a limited time with a required RSVP. There are two shows: 7:30 pm and 10 pm.
After the showcases, they will have an after party/meet and greet at a bar nearby.
Feel Woods is a young stand up comedian born and raised in Oakland. His comedy entails the struggles of growing up in the hood, having a huge stuttering problem, the trials and tribulations on dating older women, and hooking up with girls in his public storage. Feel’s urban style and self deprecating humor made him an official member of #HellaFunny Productions and a favorite at comedy clubs around the Bay Area.
Oakland native Papp Johnson offers audiences thoughtful stupidity that will make you feel bad for laughing at his observations that are politically incorrect, but right on the money. His deep voice and monotone delivery sucks in the crowd and leaves them hanging onto every word. Winner of San Francisco’s Death at a Funeral comedy contest, Papp Johnson is a sure fire star to keep your eyes on.
Originally from Detroit, Dirty Mike is taking the Bay Area comedy scene by storm. His story telling abilities, authentic delivery, and hilarious life experiences made him one of the last house comedians at the legendary Purple Onion. He is the self proclaimed ‘First N*gga in Detroit to ride a skateboard.’ He can be seen every Monday night at the Brainwash hosting his show The Monday Night Hype with Trevor Joyner.
Tim Young is a young comedian based out of San Francisco. Don’t let his baby face and charm fool you. His act is hilariously raunchy and raw. He is an act not to be missed.
With musical guest French Vanilla and host, the Godfather of San Francisco comedy, Tony Sparks.
