Historic Orchard | 412 Seymour Street, San Jose, CA

Event Details

Alongside the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy, come support the Historic Orchard, a 3.3 representation of the history of the Santa Clara Valley fruit orchard industry.

Their 200 fruit trees, maintained entirely by volunteers, provide fruit to the Second Harvest Food Bank; last year, they donated over 5,000 lbs.

Volunteers will spread wood chips around the trees in order to prevent weeds and improve water retention.

Come prepared; bring water. It is recommended that volunteers wear weather appropriate clothing including long pants and shoes/boots that can get dirty. GRPC will provide gloves (but they are pre-worn so you can bring your own if you prefer) and all other necessary tools.

Meet at 412 Seymour Street, San Jose, CA at the orchard gate entrance near the end of the Seymour parking lot.
