Event Details

Explore nature and history as you stroll Cerrito Creek and climb Albany Hill with three expert guides.
From Native Americans to ranchos, dynamite, gambling, and a century of citizen effort to save this urban oasis, this area has a fascinating history. It also has remarkable diversity of plants and animals that you can enjoy and learn about — including how to help protect them in an uncertain future.
This walk will cover only a little over a mile at a leisurely to moderate pace, but we will climb 310′ ft. Albany Hill on a dirt trail with steps (descending on a more moderate service road). Wear sturdy shoes with good traction and bring sticks of you use them. Bring water and a small snack. It is easy to avoid poison oak, but we recommend long pants and long sleeves.
