The City of Martinez is pleased to announce that the annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show is returning to Martinez for 2023. The City is also welcoming back the annual Fourth of July Parade organized by Downtown Martinez and Company and sponsored by the Martinez Refining Company. The City is taking this opportunity to ensure the public is fully informed about the day’s activities, schedule and impacts to parking and vehicle traffic.

For the Parade 2023

The parade starts at 10:00 AM and will travel down Main Street from Court Street to Alhambra Avenue where the parade will turn right before it ends at Escobar Street. Staging will occur on Court Street and Main Street adjacent to the Contra Costa Superior Court building and County offices. Before the parade, there will be Flag Raising Ceremony at 9:00 AM at the Veteran’s Memorial Building , which community members are invited to attend.

To support the parade, volunteers from Downtown Martinez and Company will close off access to Main Street on Court Street, Las Juntas Street, Ferry Street, Estudillo Street, Castro Street and Alhambra Avenue at 8 a.m. Signs will be posted up to 72 hours in advance.

Downtown Martinez and Company is asking for the help of community volunteers. Interested people can go to their website to learn more: 4th of July Parade (downtownmartinez.org)

For the Fireworks Show 2023

The Fireworks Show will be held at the Martinez Marina, and will begin at approximately 9 p.m. Vehicle access to the Marina will be closed off between 6-7 a.m. and will include access at Berrellessa Street, Ferry Street and Marina Vista Avenue. Only residents with a permit will be allowed into the Marina area. All vehicle access into and out of the Marina will be stopped at 6 p.m. until after the fireworks show concludes around 10 p.m. We encourage residents who live in, or frequent the area, to plan ahead.

To attend the Fireworks Show, the City encourages the public to walk to the event, park in and around the Downtown area, or use ride sharing options. The duration of the show will be about 45 minutes.

The City has contracted with Pyro Spectaculars North, Inc to orchestrate the show. Pryo Spectaculars North, Inc has carried out numerous fireworks shows for the City of Martinez in years past.

Please note that fireworks are often announced only a few days in advance. Check here or on the City of Martinez calendar for updates.
