IDIA Dance Festival 2026: Indian Classical Dance Weekend (Palo Alto)

IDIA – I Dance, Hence I Am – returns for its 9th Annual Festival of Dance on 15–16 August 2026 at the Cubberley Theatre, Palo Alto, California. Over two days, the festival will bring together distinguished performers, acclaimed teachers, emerging artists, and dance enthusiasts for a celebration of Indian classical dance through performances, interactive sessions, and artistic dialogue.

This year’s festival features an exceptional line-up of artists including Nritya Kalanidhi Smt. Bragha Bessell, Meenakshi Srinivasan, Deepa Mahadevan & Kaustavi Sarkar, along with a special Junior Showcase and performances by promising Bay Area soloists: Roopa Suresh, Snigdha Venkataramani and Lekshmi Sarath. Audiences will also have the opportunity to participate in interactive sessions led by Dr. Divya Raghavan and Meenakshi Srinivasan, offering unique insights into dance, movement, and artistic practice.

Now in its ninth edition, IDIA continues to serve as a platform that celebrates excellence in Indian classical dance while creating meaningful opportunities for learning, dialogue, and cultural exchange. Since its inception, the festival has brought together renowned artists and the Bay Area community, fostering appreciation for India’s rich performing arts traditions and inspiring the next generation of dancers.
