Event Details

Chandran Gallery is pleased to present NBD, a solo exhibition and book release by Oakland-based artist, Swampy, who is recognized as one of the most influential graffiti artists today. The exhibition is comprised of select images from the book presented as large-scale c-prints and will be on view from July 25 – August 08, 2015 with an opening reception on Saturday, July 25 from 7 – 10pm.

NBD is a collection of photographs detailing the artist’s travels, primarily train hopping, across North America from Mexico to Alaska during the fall of 2010 to the summer of 2011. The images take us inside the hobo culture that treads the line of fugitive and idyllic and shows us quiet observations of the communities, strangers and provocateurs that the artist encounters in his travels.
