Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin met at a Super Bowl party in 1999. Three or four people started going to their shows in 2004. First album. Broom. 2005. First tour. Signed to Polyvinyl Records in 2006. Song “Oregon Girl” is on The OC.
Boris Yeltsin dies 2007. They played in Moscow a couple months later. Also in 2007: Most of their songs are used in an episode of 16 and Pregnant. Start recording LP3 with Chris Walla. Third album. Let It Sway. August 17, 2010. Toured with Tokyo Police Club and Two Door Cinema Club in 2011. First Japanese tour. Summer 2012. Named U.S. State Department Cultural Ambassadors. Return to Mother Russia January 2013. Realized they’ve played over 600 shows. New album “The High Country” out now on Polyvinyl (US/Europe) and Moorworks (Japan).
