“But today their Interest Knows No Limits”: Exceptional Women of the GGIE. Political and economic power brokers, most of them male, may have built Treasure Island and brought the Golden Gate International Exposition into being.

But the creative energy of women was responsible for much of what was most noteworthy and memorable about the fair’s art, education and entertainment, from exotic dancers to the highest achievements in arts management.

Speaker: Anne Schnoebelen, Vice President, Treasure Island Museum.
