Event Details

Celebrate the birth of the Island City of Alameda, California, with a free public art event open to all ages. Audiences will be taken on a guided journey to four sites along the water’s edge — between the Fruitvale and the Park Street bridges — to experience art, dance, music and tales connecting them to Alameda’s rich maritime past.

From stories about the many waves of immigrants who helped shape the region’s identity to hands-on art-making activities to live music and dance performed outdoors along Alameda’s historic Waterfront Trail, audiences will interact and participate with actors, dancers, musicians and artists to make each tour unique.

Each tour will last approximately 90 minutes. This a guided walking tour that covers a half-mile route from the Fruitvale to the Park Street bridges with mutliple stops.

Public restrooms and a water station will be available. All outdoor pathways and indoor sites are ADA-compliant. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your desired tour
