Jack White Reads Poetry + Book Signing at SF’s Historic “City Lights” Bookstore (North Beach)

Jack White will appear at City Lights for a poetry reading, conversation with City Lights Events Director Peter Maravelis, and signing for Jack White Collected Lyrics and Selected Writing. The anthology, edited by Ben Blackwell, collects lyrics from White’s solo work, The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather, and other collaborations, alongside poems, writing, photos, and new essays.

UPDATE – The free event is at registration capacity and is limited to attendees who registered in advance.

(Regretfully, there are no more tickets left for this event. There is NO waiting list. We kindly ask that people not loiter around the store waiting for admittance. Only people who have already registered will be admitted. We appreciate your consideration and kindness.)

For those who have already registered: We ask that you please refrain from bringing memorabilia, albums, and other objects for signing. Jack will only sign copies of COLLECTED LYRICS AND SELECTED WRITINGS. A line will begin at the front door and wind around the building to Kerouac Alley at 10:45 am. We will begin letting people in at about 11:30 am. We suggest anyone interested in purchasing a book do so in advance at the front counter upon entry. The store opens at 10:00 am.

The anthology includes selected poems and writing by White, rare and exclusive photos, and new essays written especially for this book by award-winning, Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award-nominated poet Adrian Matejka, Detroit-based filmmaker and writer dream hampton, and Third Man Records co-founder Ben Blackwell.

Jack White is a twelve-time Grammy-winning master musician, producer, actor, and publisher. He is best known for his work in the bands The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather, and as a solo artist. In 2009 he also founded his own record label, Third Man Records. Shortly thereafter, he founded Third Man Books in Nashville, Tennessee.
