Vibraphone virtuoso and composer, Jalen Baker comes to the Bach with his alumni bandmates from the esteemed Houston School of Performing Arts and Visual Arts. With these bandmates Baker released his highly regarded debut album in 2021 “This is me This is Us” which was chosen as the #4 best Jazz Debut of 2021 and in 2023 released his second album “Be Still” that charted high on the international jazz charts. In addition to leading his quartet, Baker regularly performs with trumpeter Jeremy Pelt, drummer Jonnathan Blake and the Ulysses Owens Trio and Quartet. Baker has also received several accolades including outstanding soloist at both the Notre Dame and Elmhurst Jazz Festivals. He was accepted as a Graduate Assistant in the Jazz Performance program at Florida State University and in 2019 received his MM in Jazz Studies. During his tenure at Florida State he was chosen as a Ravinia Jazz Fellow in 2018. Come hear this young exciting artist play his unique blend of original modern jazz compositions and jazz standards.
