Event Details

Inspired by the 1936 “Cochin Gyoretsu” Lantern Parade commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Kanrin Maru ship’s arrival to the San Francisco Bay, watch a modern-day paper lantern parade celebrating the 150th Anniversary and join the Japantown community in dancing “Yosakoi”, a traditional Japanese folk dance of the Kochi region.

5:30 pm: Okinawan Performance by Eisa & Shiisaa (Lion Dance) @ Peace Plaza
6:30 pm: Parade Starts. Gough & Post. Obon dance and Yosakoi follows until 9:30pm.
