The Railroad Museum at Ardenwood is holding their once-a-year celebration of “Katie”, the little green locomotive. This event is designed for children ages 6 and under.
Ardenwood Historic Farm will also have activities too including: Walk With A Goat, Rope Making & Hay Hoisting, We All Scream For Ice Cream, Victorian Games, and Animal Feeding.
The historic Patterson House will be open for tours conducted by docents in 19th century costumes; a special tour for ages 6 yrs & under is offered at 11:30 am (space is limited; purchase your pass at the Park entrance). The Farmyard Café will be open for food and drinks, or bring a picnic.

$5 admission tickets; Katie Train and Patterson House tickets are $3 separately
Ride the Katie Train to Deer Park and enjoy special train theme activities:
- Build a wooden train track
- Create a town with their wooden blocks
- Play engineer and run a locomotive around the SPCRR wooden train layout
- Toss beanbags into gondola cars
- Blow bazillions of bubbles on the lawn
- Read train books and enjoy a storytime at our Train Library
- Toddle through the Toot-A-Loo Tunnels
- Color a picture of Katie
- Pose for a picture with our wooden cut-out of “Katie.”
All tickets are available at the entrance. Cash and Credit Cards accepted. Katie Train tickets are $5 for ages 2 and up (under 2 free) and include all-day train rides and all train-theme activities. Patterson House tickets are $3 each.
Katie Train and Patterson House tickets are a separate fee in addition to the Ardenwood admission fee: $3/Adults (18+), $3/seniors (62+), $2/children (4-17), under 4-free.
