After an 8-year hiatus, an East Bay Lammas Ritual is back in Tilden Park on August 1, 2015. Come and celebrate on the land where you live and the first fruits (and veggies) of the harvest in a time of drought, honoring the land and the water that produce our food and sharing a picnic meal in sacred space. Gather at 4-4:30 pm. Ritual at 5 pm.
Bring your garden produce (or other food) and/or non-alcoholic drink to share; your own re-usable plate/utensils/cup; also a small jar/container with a lid. Remember a blanket to sit on or chair if you need it, and wear layers as fog may come in. And if you have it, bring a rain stick and/or a frog-sound noisemaker. Drums and musical instruments always welcome.
Steady rain cancels; mist or light rain, they’ll be there. Children welcome. Dogs on leash (by park rule).
Public transport: AC Transit Bus no. 67 (starts at downtown Berkeley BART) to Central Park Drive at (former) Pony Rides site, near Big Leaf picnic area & not far from Little Farm. Walk a bit further (2 minutes) along Central Park Drive, away from Little Farm, in direction of Lake Anza & Merry-Go-Round, and see parking lot at Lone Oak Rd. Meadow is next to parking lot — look for yellow RITEHERE signs. (Same site as Beltane Maypole ritual.)
