The legendary Lawrence Ferlinghetti will recite the debut of his new poem At Sea at the Meridian Gallery.
He is a preeminent poet, painter, publisher, and founder of City Lights Books, agent provocateurs studied at Columbia University, the Sorbonne and the Academie Julien in Paris after World War II. He sold Allen Ginsberg’s Howl and was arrested on obscenity charges at the time
Lawrence Ferlinghetti will be joined by Jack Hirschman, a beloved San Francisco poet and raconteur who will read from his new Arcana. The two poets who have read and exhibited painting together in San Francisco and Rome will also be in conversation.
