Co-presented with KALW

Walk, bike, scooter, or BART to KALW for tonight’s summit on car-free solutions to today’s biggest challenges. Co-authors of Life After Cars Sarah Goodyear and Doug Gordon—who also host popular podcast The War on Cars—will trace the history of our car-centric culture, outline the ways in which it contributes to inequality, climate crisis, and even the loneliness epidemic. In conversation with KALW’s Sunni Khalid, they’ll offer glimpses at cities tackling the problem in novel and effective ways, hear your ideas on what might be possible in the Bay Area, and offer practical tips for navigating the (car-free) road ahead. Let’s imagine a safer, cleaner, more equitable future together! Doors at 6:45pm. FREE, $10-15 suggested donation
