Event Details

Akashic Books authors Joe Meno (Office Girl) and Nathan Larson (The Nervous System), and San Francisco’s own Joshua Mohr (Damascus) appear at Litquake’s July Epicenter.

About the Authors

  • Joe Meno is a playwright and fiction writer, and author of six novels, including Hairstyles of the Damned and his newest, Office Girl. He is recipient of a Nelson Algren Literary Award and a Pushcart Prize, and teaches in the Fiction Writing Department at Columbia College Chicago.
  • Nathan Larson is an author, guitarist, and award-winning film music composer, creating scores for over 30 movies, including Boys Don’t Cry and Margin Call. His newest novel, The Nervous System, is the second in a series of Dewey Decimal detective fiction. He lives in Harlem, New York City, with his wife and son.
  • Joshua Mohr is a creative writing teacher, and author of three bestselling novels: Some Songs That Meant the World to Me, Termite Parade, and his latest, Damascus, which The New York Times called “Beat-poet cool…Mohr nails the atmosphere of a San Francisco still breathing in the smoke that lingers from the days of Jim Jones and Dan White, a time when passionate ideologies and personal dysfunction intermingled and combusted.”

About the Epicenter
The Epicenter embraces a theater of ideas between writers and readers with a literary conversation followed by audience Q&A, book sales and signing.

Admission is free, cocktails recommended. Capacity is limited, so come early.
