Marcus Shelby Orchestra | Yerba Buena Gardens Festival | 2012

The Abolitionist movement, the Women’s Rights movement, the Worker’s Rights movement, the Civil Rights movement, the Chicano Rights movement, and the LGBT movement all used music effectively to inspire, inform, and unify. Green and Blues, a new musical suite by Marcus Shelby, will celebrate and honor the virtues of a sustainable and green environment with instrumental, vocal, and spoken word.

Composer/bassist Shelby keeps the tradition of the big band jazz orchestra alive with the Marcus Shelby Orchestra, featuring some of the best jazz musicians in the Bay Area.
