Event Details

Join the Museum of Craft and Design and the San Francisco Public Library for a virtual hand weaving workshop! This textile craft opportunity is inspired by the SFPL 4th Floor’s Pandemic Pastimes exhibit and MCD’s Mode Brut exhibition. Mode Brut is a fashion-focused exhibition that highlights artist practices through collaborative design and textiles – features over 50 Creativity Explored artists.

During this free workshop, you will learn basic techniques and foundational weave structures to create a loom and mini–tapestry. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Visit SFPL’s Main Branch to pick up a free MakeArt Kit with all necessary supplies (available on the 4th floor reference desk at 100 Larkin Street), or source the materials on your own! To check availability of MakeArt Kits, please call 415-557-4488.
