Event Details

Join Planet Drum Foundation staff, friends, and family for the start of their monthly 2013 Workshop-Workday events and then stick around because participants will be treated to a free BBQ.

This month, they will be at the Candlestick State Recreation Area Native Plant Nursery & Community Gardens, and the Yosemite Slough in San Francisco’s Bayview Hunter’s Point Area to engage in the bioregional aspect of education & engagement.

They will be working along side of youth from Literacy for Environmental Justice and experts from the Golden Gate Audubon Society to accomplish migratory bird surveying and native plant restoration at the Yosemite Slough.

  • 9:30-10 am: Meet at the Candlestick State Recreation Area Nursery for an introduction & workshop-workday logistics
  • 10 am to noon: Travel (Caravan) to Yosemite Slough/Habitat Restoration/Avian surveying site (3 min away from nursery)

Bird Census & Restoration

  • 12-12:30 pm: Pack up and travel back to Nursery
  • 12:30-2 pm or so… BBQ and celebrate your accomplishments. Please feel free to contribute food and drinks.

Please dress for varied weather (in layers), bring hats, sunglasses, and sunblock, as well as water and a snack (optional, but recommended). Workday will be cancelled only for excessive weather.
