Event Details

Come and celebrate the Japanese tradition of mochitsuki, or Japanese rice cake making, at the Western Addition Branch of the San Francisco Public Library.

The mochitsuki will be performed by Kagami Kai, SF’s own mochitsuki group (they recently performed at the Asian Art Museum and at the Japanese Tea Garden). Everyone is encouraged to participate in the pounding of mochi and enjoy the delicious taste and texture of freshly-made soft mochi.

This event will be held either outside in the library courtyard or inside on the general floor depending on the weather. All programs at the library are free. Made possible by support of the Friends of the Library.
