Join us to celebrate all Mothers and especially Latin Moms in the seventh annual celebration of Mother’s Day | Mother’s Day at the Exploratorium. This year we will offer bilingual programming for Moms and the whole family! We will share information about the rich history and cultural heritage of cacao in Latin America and how these traditions are incorporated into the sustainable making of chocolate. We will offer a musical serenade to entertain the Moms and we will share the meaning of Paper Flowers with instructions and a demonstration of how to make them. Paper flowers are a beautiful gift to honor Moms and a fun activity for the family.
This Mother’s Day event is sponsored in part by a grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.
Join us in celebrating all mothers — and especially Las Mamás latinas — at the Exploratorium’s 7th annual Día de las Madres / Mother’s Day celebration. In this year’s virtual celebration, we’ll offer bilingual programming for moms and families based on stories and traditions from Latinx cultures. Learn more about the rich history and cultural importance of cacao in Latin America and how these traditions are informing sustainable chocolate-making, enjoy a musical serenade for mothers, and learn about the significance of “flores de papel” —and how to make these paper flowers at home as a fun gift to honor the moms in your life.
Mother’s Day is funded in part through a grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.
