Event Details

The Friends of Duboce Park (with Park & Rec’s blessing) is bringing you an outdoor screening of one explosive San Francisco-based flick: The Rock. Friends of the Harvey Milk Recreation Center will once again provide popcorn and other refreshments for sale.

The movie will start when it gets dark at about 8:15 p.m. and it is Rated R so beware.

About “The Rock:” A renegade general (Ed Harris) and his group of U.S. Marines take over Alcatraz and threaten San Francisco Bay with biological weapons. A chemical weapons specialist (Nicolas Cage) and the only man (Sean Connery) to have ever escaped from the Rock attempt to prevent chaos.

The film was filmed in 1996 on Alcatraz and in San Francisco and includes a car chase scene that rivals the chase in “Bullitt.”

Please Note: This  is a smallish neighborhood event that’s in no way as large as the Dolores Park affair or the Film Night in the Park series.

Disclaimer: Please double check event information with the event organizer as events can be canceled, details can change after they are added to our calendar, and errors do occur.
