Nightlife on Mars is a weekly comedy show at Murphy’s Pub, produced by local comics Joe Nguyen, Red Scott, and Natasha Muse.

The three members of Nightlife on Mars are the triptych that represents the spiritual base of the San Francisco comedy scene. Between them, they’ve performed with comic talents ranging from Robin Williams to Wyatt Cenac, and have been featured by the SF Weekly, The Daily Mail, and KALW.

Jules Posner | CANCELED: “Nightlife on Mars” Comedy Night | SF

Guests for the 1/30 show:

• Jules Posner – Jules is a stand up comedian and San Francisco native. He has been described as a comedian who, “puts the ‘b’ in subtle.” Jules started performing stand up in the San Francisco Bay Area in January of 2009 and has established himself as a fixture in the comedy community. Jules has been featured on Jokes.com’s No Drink Minimum. Additionally, he has been featured on Rooftopcomedy.com’s Road Trip on Hulu. Although Jules is based in San Francisco, he performs all over the country. He has headlined shows from New York to Los Angeles and is a favorite at the SF Punchline as well as Cobb’s Comedy Club. Jules has also performed in multiple festivals such as SF Sketchfest 2011-2013, the SF Comedy and Burrito Festival, and the S.H.I.T.’s and Giggles Festival in Humboldt. He has also performed with some of the best comedians in the industry such as Maria Bamford, Arj Barker, Chelsea Peretti, Kyle Kinane, Bobcat Goldthwait, and Mike Birbiglia just to name a few.
• Josef Anolin – Josef was born and raised in Oakland, CA thanks to his parents. Josef likes to tell jokes that offer audiences fresh perspectives on “hot button” issues like race, class, and gender that are simultaneously respectful and tongue in cheek offensive. Josef has been peddling his humor to audiences throughout the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Oregon, Nevada, Hawaii and may have been the first comedian to do a joke about NY Knicks Point Guard, Jeremy Lin (albeit back in 2010 when he was still a Golden State Warrior and irrelevant).
• Daymon Ferguson – Daymon Ferguson hails from Hell. Or rather, Chico California, where he was born into a white trash tradition that he’s been trying to escape ever since. Six years of work as a lawyer have taught Daymon to truly despise lawyers. Since making the decision to quit law for comedy, he’s started to feel his soul growing back. It kind of itches.
• Tom Smith – Tom Smith is a twelve-year veteran of the stage and has performed stand-up comedy in diverse venues across North America and Ireland sharing the stage with such diverse acts as Jackie Kashian, Dean Edwards, Johnny Steele, Joe Klocek and Will Durst. His comedy is intelligent, challenging and accessible at the same time.
