Noise Pop 2020 Music & Art Festival | SF

The Noise Pop Festival is San Francisco’s (and Funcheap’s) favorite indie music and art festival.

Now in its 28th year, Noise Pop has brought early exposure to many emerging artists in the Bay Area and beyond, many of whom have gone on to widespread acclaim like Raphael Saadiq, Benjamin Gibbard, Maya Jane Coles, Best Coast, Duster, Washed Out and Helado Negro.

Over the course of a week, from Monday, February 24 to Sunday, March 1, 2020 transforms the Bay Area into a festival ground with multiple events taking place across the city each night.

Noise Pop Festival 2019 x EarUp Global Showcase presents Dokoe, Mike Orange & The Universe Travellers, milos, and Marstn at Amnesia on
Saturday, March 2, 2019.

Ear Up Music Global is a music project scheme that aims to further incubate young Hong Kong music talents by offering them an opportunity to perform on the global music stage, while at the same time provide international exposure to more established music acts.

The project has paired up music acts in a mentee/mentor relationship and sent them to perform at a music festival in the U.S., Germany, South Korea and the mainland respectively between September 2017 and February 2018.

Dokoe
Dokoe is a post/mathrock band from California bringing you sounds of melodic chaos to soft whispers.

Mike Orange & The Universe Travellers
Mike Orange & The Universe Travellers is a musical project initiated by Mike Orange. It’s a musical collective experimenting and exploring different musical languages in different music styles, and also with an attempt of reinterpreting electronic music with live instruments.

Milos
milos got together to release their first single, Potato Flower, in 2016. The feedback was rousing so the band was formed and have since been invited to perform as the opening act for other bands such as Elephant Gym (Taiwan), toconoma (Japan) and more reverb (Hong Kong).

In the summer of 2018, milos reformed as a quartet. In their instrumental music journey, milos uses complex structure to create stories, compiling chapters throughout their songs. When you listen to the music by milos, it is a story told by music.

Marstn
Marstn is a singer-songwriter from Hong Kong. A majority of his songs are charged with folk and pop elements. Known for his versatile vocal style and story telling lyrics, his music is honest and unembellished. With a piano and a mic, it makes you feel and think.
