The city of Oakland is hosting a Viewing Party to cheer on a local designer starring on the current season of Lifetime’s cat walk reality competition TV show, “Project Runway,” – Oakland’s Amy Sarabi.
City officials, local designers and the public are invited gather tonight to cheer on Sarabi at The Den at The Fox (a swanky bar attached to the recently re-opened historic Fox Theater in Uptown Oakland.
In attendance: Oakland Councilmember Nancy Nadel; contestant Amy Sarabi; City, civic and business leaders; Oakland fashion designers

About Project Runway Season Seven: An online favorite since the start of the popular show’s current (seventh) season, Sarabi is on a roll after winning last week’s judging competition. Sarabi is one of the emerging stars of Oakland ’s burgeoning fashion community that also includes Babette Pinsky (www.babettesf.com) and Bernadette Reiss (www.biscottiinc.com), head designer and owner of Biscotti Inc., who garnered national attention for the dress worn by Malia Obama on election night.
