Opera on Tap: Non-stuffy Opera Sung Live in a Bar | SF
Opera on Tap is a non-profit organization whose mission is to break down the stereo-type that opera is a stuffy or an elitist art form, by bringing it to bars.
Local singers let their hair down and bring you into what feels like an after hours back stage party, singing some of opera’s best known and little known pieces in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Kickoff this years wedding season with Opera on Tap San Francisco. Opera on Tap is a nationwide non-profit dedicated to bringing opera to the people. This event is free and is great for those being introduced to the art form for the first time or those who have been long time lovers of opera.
This month they will be presenting pieces from Bay Area’s own John Adams’ Dr. Atomic, Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Cosi fan Tutte, Don Giovanni, as well as Rossini’s Cenerentola and more.
