Sunday, May 25th brings us the “Californnessee” tour that will see Matt Woods (Now with Drums), American Dirt, 50 Watt Heavy and the Dead Volts playing a round of shows together. It’s a killer line-up of all Twang N Bang Records bands, so come on down and get your Sunday filled with raucous country music.

Matt Woods is a Knoxville, Tennessee based songwriter who spends a hell of a lot of time driving all over bringing his songs to anyone who cares to listen. Some folks call what he does Outlaw Country or Americana, but he has a hard time putting a label on things like that. A lot of his songs are very much based in classic Country music while others are grounded in straight forward and greasy rock’n’roll. Matt tries to be as honest as he can when he writes songs. Give ’em a listen and call ’em what you want then get your ass out to a show.

Dead Volts are straight forward guitar rock with some twang, amps turned up just a bit too loud in a failed attempt to overtake the crashing drums, a few brews and a bit of the whiskey, 2 minute songs played at breakneck speed followed by a few old sad songs, that’s what they’re shooting for.
