Outdoor Salsa Dance Party | SoMa
Shake it like a Polaroid picture at Let’s Go Salsa@Jessie, the open-air salsa dance party in Jessie Square (near the Contemporary Jewish Museum), which takes place on the third Thursday from 6-7:30 pm, May through August 2014.
There are salsa dance lessons at the beginning of every event and a different live band provides the fiery music.
Congolese salsero Ricardo Lemvo & Makina Loca will be rocking Jessie Square with pan-African styles – soukous, Angolan semba and kizomba. This Congo-born artist of Angolan ancestry is the embodiment of the Afro-Latin Diaspora which, connects back to Mother Africa via the Cuban clave rhythm. Dance instruction at the beginning of the program.
